It has been almost half a year since we returned to the office, and we asked you about what you looked forward to the most every day at work. Here's what you told us!

Looking forward to meeting people face to face instead of speaking to a monitor screen with 4 blank walls in your room. Catching up during lunch instead of having meals all alone at home. Lastly grabbing those perfect soft-boiled eggs on the way to work to start the day right!

I like the fact that the office is less crowded, but at the same time, on certain days we can still have a chance to meet up with the colleagues who are in office. I find that this combination of WFO and WFH is a good balance, as the 2 days that we are WFH would allow us to catch a breather from the daily rush to office. OK, what do I look forward to in office... the air-con! And the peaceful work environment.

What we are doing differently ​— with the use of SG-Teams, gone are the days where we need to spend time hunting for meeting rooms to meet our colleagues. We can now simply book our colleagues’ time as long as they are available and our discussions can be held virtually. I do wish that HDB could build 'discussion cubicles/pods' so that we do not disturb our colleagues around us during our discussions in office!

I have been mostly working on site so not much has changed for me since returning to office. Despite distractions from my kids (which I cherish) while WFH, I’m able to be equally productive and produce the same results as I would have while WFO.

Looking at how HDB is evolving to adapt to changes in the new normal, I would say that I enjoy the flexibility this arrangement provides. Though we have fewer virtual meetings nowadays as more of us are back in the office, we should not lose our gains from the pandemic and remember how technology helped us come so far. All in all, I’m doing great!

Kind of missing those times when there were ample seats in buses/trains since we came to office occasionally. But now WFO, I love the air-con, proper desks and chairs, and having dual monitors!
